Green Mountain Lightning was founded in 2015 for the purpose of sending local kids in the Southern Vermont area to sporting events outside our area where they can compete at a higher level and improve their skills and knowledge of the game. Our first team's goal was simply to make it to Cooperstown to play in a one week tournament at the Field of Dreams Park. Through much hard work and fundraising, that team is slated to play this year the week of August 26th. As that team has grown and improved through lots of hard work and sweat, so has our organization. Now we field two teams and hope to grow to four this fall. Our mission is to improve the level of play in Vermont and revive the sport among our youth. We have a great staff of volunteer coaches and parents and are based in Manchester, VT with kids who are welcome from surrounding towns, including Bennington, Chester, Rutland, Londonderry and Granville. We play in the Empire State Baseball League in the Albany area.
